Nathan Goodin started the company while he was working at the fire department. A friend, a police officer doing yard work on the side, had ten or twelve properties he needed to hand off and a schedule that no longer fit. Nathan’s did. That was the beginning: about twelve yards, worked around shifts.

The neighbors noticed. Word of mouth is still where most of our work comes from more than two decades later, which is a slower way to grow a company and a harder one to fake.

Landscaping followed, then irrigation, then a relationship with a landscape designer that opened up installation work. Later we bought an irrigation business outright so that department could stand on its own. We have gone after some wrong things over the years and learned from them. The growth we kept was the controlled kind, with clients and projects worth keeping.

We are not going to be the cheapest

We usually land in the middle on price, or a notch above it. That is worth saying plainly rather than letting you find out from a competitor’s number. What we will tell you is that we are frequently the company brought in to take over work that was not going well, and that our clients tend to stay a long time.
